1727年，刚刚加入英国国籍的亨德尔被委托为乔治二世的加冕仪式写一套音乐。由于他很难预料到会有一个更雄伟的场合，所以作曲家充分利用这个机会，上演了一场空前辉煌的音乐盛宴。RIAS室内合唱团（RIAS Kammerchor）和柏林音乐厅室内乐团（The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin）对这些华丽的作品进行了激动人心的演绎，其中的一些作品至今仍在每次新的加冕仪式上使用！
指挥家简介：
贾斯汀·多伊尔（Justin Doyle）是一名英国的指挥家。他在威斯敏斯特大教堂开始了他的音乐生涯，并在剑桥国王学院担任合唱团成员。他于2006年在巴塞罗那著名的Cadaqués管弦乐团指挥比赛中获得二等奖，并与来自BBC的歌者一起获得了指挥家的奖学金。作为北方歌剧院的客座指挥，最近的其他活动包括与北方歌剧院管弦乐团、皇家北方交响乐团、哈雷管弦乐团、柏林阿尔特音乐学院、芬兰巴洛克管弦乐团的音乐会。
